Getting to Greece

Journey to the Peloponnese

Your Greek wedding weekend starts with the journey! We've put together all the practical information to help you plan your trip with ease.

You'll find details on the best airport to fly into, how to get to Patras, and our recommended places to stay. We hope this makes planning your visit simple, so all that's left to do is look forward to an unforgettable weekend together.

The Travel

Getting to Patras

We recommend flying into Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" (ATH). From there, Patras is easy to reach in several different ways, depending on your preference.

Option 1 – By Train

(Recommended)

Option 2 – By Bus

Option 3 – Rent a Car

Travelling by train is a comfortable and affordable way to reach Patras.

From the airport, follow the signs to the Airport Railway Station, which is connected to the terminal by a covered pedestrian walkway. We'll add a few photos below to make it even easier to find.

Take the suburban railway (Proastiakos/Προαστιακός from the airport towards Athens and change trains at Ano Liosia/Άνω Λιόσια. Continue towards Kiato/Κιάτο, where you'll transfer to the replacement train/bus service for the final part of the journey to Patras (this is currently part of the railway upgrade project).

The total journey takes approximately 3.5–4 hours.

The bus is another easy and popular option.

After leaving the arrivals hall, you'll find the airport bus stop directly outside the terminal. Take the X93 Airport Express Bus to Kifisos Bus Station (KTEL Kifisos/ΚΤΕΛ Κηφισού).

From Kifisos, direct KTEL coaches depart regularly for Patras throughout the day. The coach journey takes approximately 2.5–3 hours, making the total travel time around 3.5–4 hours, depending on traffic.

You can purchase your KTEL tickets online in advance using the link below. However, please keep in mind that the X93 Airport Express Bus can be delayed due to Athens traffic. For this reason, we recommend either allowing plenty of extra time between your airport arrival and your booked coach, or simply purchasing your ticket at Kifisos Bus Station, where tickets are usually readily available.

If you'd like the freedom to explore a little more of Greece, renting a car is an excellent choice.

The drive from Athens Airport to Patras takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, mostly via the modern A8 motorway, which is easy to navigate.

Please note that several toll roads are used along the route, so make sure to have a credit/debit card or some cash available for the toll booths.

There are plenty of great places to stay in Patras, but if you'd like to be close to the wedding festivities, we recommend staying near the marina. This area is within walking distance of the city centre, restaurants, and both the train and bus stations, making it a convenient base for the weekend.

If you prefer to travel by car, you're of course welcome to make your own way to the venue.

Pack casual attire for our Friday rooftop sunset gathering. For the Saturday ceremony and evening celebration. Think summer chic—elegant, festive, and comfortable for a warm Greek afternoon and evening.

The celebration will take place outdoors in the gardens of the villa, so we recommend avoiding very thin stiletto heels, as they may sink into the grass. Comfortable footwear for dancing is also encouraged! We'll have a spot where you can change into your favourite dancing shoes once the party gets going.
